From Stream to STEM: Hands-On Learning Along the Delaware

SPLASH = Student Participation in Learning Aquatic Science & History

Hands-on educational adventures on the Delaware River since 2004.
Since 2004, the SPLASH Floating Classroom has delighted school groups and adult learners with 90-minute educational sails on the beautiful Delaware River in Lambertville, NJ. We also offer engaging classes in the D&R Canal State Park, at schools, and at community locations.

Learning on the River

Science in Action

Our hands-on programs introduce students to the Delaware watershed and ways to protect it. Topics include:
  • River critters (macroinvertebrates)
  • Water chemistry and balance of life
  • Environmental history of the river through the American Shad
  • Birds of the Delaware River
    …and more!

Discover Wildlife & History

Every class is a chance to experience the wildlife and history of our unique region. Spot bald eagles, herons, cormorants, water snakes — and step into a landscape rich with history: Washington’s crossing, the New Hope Impressionists, the Bucks County Playhouse, working shad fisheries, and the canal system.
